Snowmobiling

With ride-in, ride-out connections from the NY Trail C5A, Tailwater Lodge is in a prime location 
to make your next snowmobile journey. Our overnight guests can utilize on-site truck and trailer

Snowshoeing and Cross-Country Skiing

Experience the wonders of the Salmon River in winter by exploring our on-property trails.
Snowshoes are available to overnight guests for use, based upon availability.

In addition to spectacular sunsets over Lake Ontario, visitors can expect outstanding fishing and popular hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and biking trails that lead to a lush mix of meadows and woodlands. Entrance fees apply (vary by season)

The Winona Forest Recreation Association (WFRA) maintains approximately 70 miles of trails in the Winona Forest and Jefferson County Forest Preserve. WFRA provides recreational opportunities for skiers, snowmobilers, ATV riders, equestrians, mushers, snowshoers, fat bikers, hikers and many other outdoor sports enthusiasts. Robert G. Wehle State Park is the region's newest State Park, entrance fees apply (vary by season) or Empire Pass accepted. The former estate of Mr. Wehle, the park boasts 1,100 acres and over 17,000 feet of Lake Ontario shoreline, some fronted by vast limestone cliffs. Also available are over 10 miles of hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and mountain biking trails. The park is also dog-friendly.
